Document Control Agent
G Mining Services is a multidisciplinary company offering professional services in the mining industry, for underground and open pit mining projects, in precious, base, or industrial metals. G Mining is one of the most important consulting firms in mining engineering in Quebec, and among the major firms renowned for international projects.
The work will be based at the McIlvenna Bay Project, located in east-central Saskatchewan, Canada, which is one of the world’s premier mining jurisdictions. Hosting significant and scalable mineral reserves, the McIlvenna Bay Project is destined to be the world’s first carbon-neutral copper mine.
In order to ensure the completion of this large-scale project, G Mining Services is seeking an experienced and motivated individuals for:
Document Control Agent – Construction Site (McIlvenna Bay)
Summary of responsibilities
Reporting to the Lead of the Document Control department, the Field Document Control Agent will support the site construction team by ensuring efficient management of project documentation. More specifically, he will be called upon to:
- Maintain, update, and distribute project documents to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure document quality control and compliance with project standards.
- Manage the receipt, tracking, and follow-up of documents from suppliers and the engineering team.
- Monitor document processing timelines and address delays proactively.
- Support document-related aspects of the supply chain and tender processes.
- Print, organize, classify, and archive engineering plans and project records.
- Generate reports on workflow status, deliverable progress, and supplier documentation.
- Train team members on the document management system (M-Files).
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in relevant field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in engineering or office administration.
- Field experience in the mining or construction industry is an asset.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English; French is an asset.
Abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to quickly learn new document management systems.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proven communication skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage a high volume of tasks with accuracy.
- Proactive, resourceful, and professional approach to work.
Additional Information
- Beginning of contract: April 2025.
- End of contract: Estimated in December 2025, possibility of extension according to the project needs.
- Position available at the mine site; McIlvenna Bay is located 1 km south of Hanson Lake, Saskatchewan, and approximately 95 km by road west of Flin Flon, Manitoba.
- Schedule is 14-14 rotation (2 weeks on site followed by 2 weeks off), 10 hours of work per day.
- Accommodation and meals on site provided by Foran.
