Foran Mining Corporation (TSX:FOM), is a modern mining company that wants to change what mining means to people. We are currently seeking a Health & Safety Coordinator to join our expanding McIlvenna Bay project team. This is a full-time position with either a 7/7 or 14/14 schedule and based at the McIlvenna Bay project site.
 
As part of the Health & Safety Team, you will be responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and maintenance of health and safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and promote a culture of safety within the organization.
 
You bring either extensive experience in an underground mining environment or a strong safety background in fixed-plant surface mining with a willingness to learn and transition to underground mining during the initial months.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local health and safety regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead Mine Rescue and emergency response activities, including training and coordination during incidents.
  • Conduct safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain safety training records, certifications, and emergency response plans; ensure employee training is up to date.
  • Coordinate and deliver safety training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Facilitate safety meetings and promote a strong safety culture through effective communication and recognition initiatives.
  • Manage personal protective equipment (PPE) distribution and ensure readiness of safety equipment.
  • Perform monthly safety audits and monitor compliance with regulations and company policies.
  • Job Qualifications and Skills:
  • 5-7 years experience in Health and Safety Coordination role, including underground or surface mining environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health or a related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Certification in occupational health and safety (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, NEBOSH) is a plus.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and training skills.
  • Must possess necessary certification as a Safety Officer or Coordinator
Compensation and Benefits:
We offer a competitive starting salary range of $110,000 - $140,000/year based on experience and qualifications. Annual discretionary short term incentive award at a percentage of base salary, rewarding exceptional contributions to team and company success.
