Foran Mining Corporation (TSX: FOM), a modern mining company that wants to change what mining means to people. We are currently seeking experienced individuals for our Miner 1 – Jumbo Bolter position to join our expanding McIlvenna Bay team. This is a full-time position based at the McIlvenna Bay site, in Northern Saskatchewan working at our camp on a rotational basis.
As part of the Underground Development Team, the Miner 1 is responsible for creating and expanding the infrastructure within the mine, preparing it for production. You will work in the early stages of mining operations and focus on excavating tunnels, drifts, and ramps to access ore bodies and establish new mining areas.
This role requires versatility, as the Miner 1 will operate various equipment and perform multiple tasks beyond jumbo bolting, including ground support installation, services installation, and other development activities.

Job Responsibilities:
- Excavate and tunnel to create access tunnels, drifts, and ramps using various mining equipment and techniques.
- Perform jumbo bolting and install ground support systems, including rebar, split sets, mechanical bolts, MD bolts, and screen, to reinforce tunnel stability.
- Drill and blast to create openings for mining access while ensuring precision and safety.
- Set up ventilation and services to maintain airflow, remove harmful gases, and support underground operations.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe work environment for all personnel.
- Collaborate with geologists and engineers to align development with geological data and mine plans.
- Inspect and maintain mining equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Maintain accurate records of development activities, including ground support installation and blasting operations.
Job Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum Grade 12 diploma or GED or a combination of education with a minimum of 8 years underground work experience
- 1+ years’ Jumbo bolting experience in an underground mine environment.
- Proficiency in mining techniques, including excavation, tunneling, drilling, and blasting
- Knowledge and experience in installing ground support systems, such as rock bolts and mesh
- Valid Blasting Ticket or ability to obtain
- Strong commitment to safety, adhering to protocols and promoting a safety-first culture
- Familiarity with operating various mining equipment, including jumbo drills, bolters, LHD machines, and haul trucks
- Physically fit and able to work in underground or confined spaces in challenging conditions
