Foran Mining Corporation (TSX: FOM), a modern mining company that wants to change what mining means to people. We are currently seeking experienced individuals for our Miner 3 – Grader Operator position to join our expanding McIlvenna Bay team to start in April 2025. This is a full-time position based at the McIlvenna Bay site, in Northern Saskatchewan working at our camp on a rotational basis.
 
As part of the Underground Services Team, the Miner 3 is responsible for operating the grader, backhoe and LHD to maintain mine haulage ways from underground to surface in a safe and efficient manner. They also ensure proper grading, drainage, and ground support, contributing to a safe and efficient mining environment.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Operate underground graders, LHD and backhoes to maintain and level roadways and tunnels.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of ramp maintenance equipment.
  • Perform grading and leveling activities to maintain the proper slope and grade of underground roadways.
  • Address ground unevenness and potholes to enhance safety and mobility.
  • Create proper drainage channels to prevent water accumulation
  • Ensure that water is directed away from critical areas, such as mining faces and equipment.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and report any issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with ground support teams to identify areas requiring additional support or reinforcement.
  • Assist in the installation of ground support systems as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of grading activities, equipment maintenance, and safety checks.
  • Report completed tasks and issues to supervisors.
  • Communicate effectively with mine supervisors, Operations personnel, and other team members to coordinate road maintenance activities.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on grading equipment, such as greasing, checking fluids, and making minor repairs.
  • Notify maintenance teams of any major equipment issues.
Job Qualifications and Skills:
  • Minimum Grade 12 diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in an Underground Mine Environment.
  • 1-3 years experience with heavy duty mobile equipment in an underground environment
  • Experience operating graders or similar heavy equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in underground mining.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to work in confined spaces and challenging underground conditions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
