Foran Mining Corporation (TSX: FOM), a modern mining company that wants to change what mining means to people. We are currently seeking experienced individuals for our Miner 3 – LHD Operator position to join our expanding McIlvenna Bay team. This is a full-time position based at the McIlvenna Bay site, in Northern Saskatchewan working at our camp on a rotational basis.
 
As part of the Underground Development Crew, the Miner 3 is responsible for operating equipment underground to load, haul and dump ore and waste as well as transport material to various locations in the mine as required. They play a key role in the extraction and transportation of ore and waste rock while adhering to safety and production standards. Progression opportunities based on skills, experience and training will be available in 2025 and beyond.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Operate Scoops to load muck (ore, waste rock, or other materials) from designated areas, including draw points or stopes.
  • Transport loaded muck to designated dumping locations or storage areas within the underground mine.
  • Safely and precisely dump materials into chutes, bins, ore passes, haul trucks or other designated locations.
  • Ensure that the dumped materials are appropriately distributed and do not cause blockages.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including pre-shift equipment checks and workplace safety procedures.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards promptly.
  • Handle materials with care to prevent spillage, accidents, or damage to equipment.
  • Operate Scoops in a manner that minimizes wear and tear.
  • Maintain effective communication with mining supervisors, ground control personnel, and other team members to coordinate loading and hauling activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials loaded, hauled, and dumped.
  • Report completed tasks and issues to supervisors as required.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on Scoops, such as greasing, fluid checks, and minor repairs.
  • Notify maintenance teams of any major equipment issues.
  • Ensure proper ventilation and dust control measures are in place to maintain air quality and reduce dust levels.

Job Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum Grade 12 diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in an Underground Mine Environment.
  • Specialized training in underground equipment operation and underground mining safety is preferred.
  • Experience operating Scoops or similar heavy equipment in an underground mining environment.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in underground mining.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to work in confined spaces and challenging underground conditions
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Compensation and Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary of $33.50/hr in addition to a highly competitive monthly bonus.
  • Potential LHD Operator bonus range: Additional $12.86 - $31.96/hr
