Project Geologist

Eldorado Gold Saskatchewan | Foran (TSX:ELD) is seeking three (3) Project Geologists to join our growing McIlvenna Bay team. This is a full-time position based at the McIlvenna Bay site working a 14/14 rotation. Preference will be given to those residing in Saskatchewan or willing to relocate to Saskatoon.

The Project Geologist is responsible for drill program execution & monitoring, geological core logging and geochemical sampling of core along with involvement in interpretation exercises and specialist data collection and analysis. This position will play a crucial role in our exploration operations by contributing to the understanding of geological structures and mineralization in our deposit areas.
Job Responsibilities:
- • Perform and oversee drill core logging for lithology, structure, alteration, mineralization, and sampling intervals using geological database software.
- • Assist with sample shipping, tracking, and QA/QC management for drilling programs.
- • Identify and report drill-related issues, including block errors, poor orientations, and core presentation concerns.
- • Assist the technical team with geological data collection, integration, interpretation, and reporting.
- • Monitor drilling activities, including drill site inspections, deviation monitoring, rig alignment checks, and downhole surveys.
- • Monitor oriented core quality and support drill crews with proper collection procedures.
- • Assist with geotechnical logging activities, including RQD, core recovery, magnetic susceptibility, specific gravity, and core photography.
- • Assist with training and mentoring junior team members.
- • Support geological mapping, soil sampling, and prospecting activities as assigned.
- • Ensure compliance with company health, safety, and environmental standards.
- • Prepare reports, maps, and technical documentation to support exploration programs.
- • Perform other exploration-related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications and Skills:
- • Bachelor's degree in Geology or a related field.
- • Professional registration with APEGS as a P.Geo or the ability to register with APEGS as a P.Geo is required.
- • 4+ years of post-graduate experience in geological core logging and geochemical sampling, preferably in a mining environment.
- • Experience monitoring or managing drill rigs is considered an asset.
- • Experience with geological software such as QGIS, ArcGIS, Leapfrog, Geoscience Analyst, or Acquire is considered an asset.
- • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- • Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote field camp environment.
- • Valid drivers license and ability to travel to field sites as required.
Compensation and Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary range of $90,000 - $105,000/year based on experience and qualifications. Annual discretionary short term incentive award at a percentage of base salary, rewarding exceptional contributions to team and company success.
