Foran Mining Corporation (TSX:FOM) is a forward-thinking mining company redefining the industry. We are seeking a Site Services Maintenance Planner to join our growing McIlvenna Bay team. This is a full-time position based at the McIlvenna Bay site working a 4/3 rotation.
 
The McIlvenna Bay Cu-Zn-Au-Ag deposit is one of the largest undeveloped VHMS deposits in Canada. Foran recently announced (2024) approval by the Board of Directors for the project to proceed to the formal construction phase with initial production expected in Q4 2025. The McIlvenna Bay deposit’s core commodities are critical for the global transition to green energy and Foran aims to extract these critical minerals in a sustainable manner by empowering local communities, contributing to circular economies and protecting the environment for future generations.
 
Site Services Maintenance Planner is responsible for the planning, scheduling, and coordination of maintenance and operational activities for camp maintenance, water treatment plant, and surface facilities. This role ensures that work is planned effectively, resources are optimized, and downtime is minimized while maintaining compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The Site Services – Maintenance Planner collaborates with various departments to enhance efficiency and productivity across site services operations.
 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain detailed short-term and long-term maintenance schedules for camp maintenance, surface infrastructure, mine water treatment plant, and surface facilities.
  • Plan and schedule preventative and corrective maintenance activities to ensure reliability and continuous operation of site services.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams, contractors, and vendors to secure necessary resources, materials, and personnel.
  • Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track work orders, maintenance history, and asset performance.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and collaborate with supervisors to identify and prioritize Site Services needs.
  • Ensure all planned work complies with mine site safety standards, regulatory requirements, and environmental guidelines.
  • Develop job plans, including scope of work, labor estimates, tools, and materials required for each task.
  • Monitor and analyze work execution performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices.
  • Liaise with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure the availability of necessary parts, supplies and materials.
  • Support budget planning and cost control by providing accurate forecasting of maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting related to surface planning and execution.
Job Qualifications and Skills:
  • Post-secondary education in maintenance planning, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in planning, scheduling, or related roles within the mining or heavy industrial sector.
  • Experience working with CMMS software (e.g., SAP, Maximo, Pronto or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and structural maintenance and surface works principles.
  • Familiarity with mine water treatment plant operations and surface infrastructure maintenance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Project.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations relevant to mine site operations.
Compensation and Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary range of $90,000 - $105,000/year based on experience and qualifications. Annual discretionary short term incentive award at a percentage of base salary, rewarding exceptional contributions to team and company success.
